Good morning, Colorado.
Yesterday, my wife and I were scouring the kitchen to figure out what to make for dinner. We could defrost this, we could sear that, we could roast some of these. Then she looked at me and said, “Want to just get tacos?”
And we did.
So before we get on to the news, let’s all say three cheers to tacos.

Alterra CEO says skiing has reached a “tipping point,” resorts need to ease pain of “really, really mad” customers
Earlier this month, Jason Blevins sat down with Alterra CEO Jared Smith in front of 800 resort and tourism industry leaders to talk about — well, what else — skiing. In the wide-ranging conversation, the two covered climate change, next-gen finance and growing the sport without tarnishing the experience. Oh, and all those “really, really mad” customers.
WOLVES
One introduced wolf is dead in Colorado. Another is likely expecting pups in Grand County.

Meanwhile, wildlife officials won’t kill another wolf that has preyed on four cows because it is likely the mate to a pregnant wolf that is denning. If officials are correct, this will be the first offspring from the reintroduced wolves, Tracy Ross reports.
ENVIRONMENT

This summer, 10 farmers in southwestern Colorado are experimenting with low-water crops, like wheat and barley, as a way to cut their water use in times of drought. But their hopes aren’t high that the crops will become a dominant part of their business anytime soon thanks to unreliable markets, Shannon Mullane writes.
