Two people were killed — including a boy — and four others were hurt in a Denver shooting early Sunday, police said.

The shooting happened on the 5000 block of North Orleans Court in the city’s Green Valley Ranch Neighborhood. Police first posted about the shooting on social media at 2:33 a.m., about an hour after it happened.

“It appears there was a party at a residence,” police said in a news release Sunday evening. “A group of uninvited people arrived at the location, and there was a confrontation that escalated to gunfire. There is evidence that multiple shots were fired from multiple firearms.”

The boy killed in the shooting wasn’t involved in the conflict. The other person killed was a 26-year-old man whose involved in the fight, if any, remains under investigation, police said.

“Four victims remain hospitalized, one of them in critical condition, and they are at multiple hospitals in the Denver metro area,” the release said.

The victims’ names and cause of death would later be released, the Denver Police Department said in a social media post.

Officers were working on gathering information about a possible suspect, police said.

“Investigators are still actively working to process the scene and gather information, and no arrests have been made, at this time,” the release said.
