Following a monthslong investigation, authorities have identified the human remains that were found on a trail in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Investigators believe that 40-year-old Steven Noto, of Western New York, died in late November 2024 before his remains were found in the park June 18, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office said this week.
When authorities found the remains on Alpine Ridge Trail near the Alpine Visitor Center, they were mostly bones, which made it impossible for authorities to determine the man’s cause and manner of death, the coroner’s office said.
Foul play has been ruled out, however, the office said.
Authorities identified Noto through a dental record comparison.
