All of the residents forced to evacuate from the Pearl fire burning in northern Larimer County were allowed to return to their homes as a cold front moving across the state helped fire crews reach 95% containment of the fire.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office issued an “all clear” Sunday, nearly a week after the fire sparked on private property about 5 miles northwest of Red Feather Lakes and prompted evacuation orders for hundreds of people.

The fire quickly spread to 128 acres after it was sparked, but held steady through the week as more than 300 firefighters were called to the scene to try to control the flames. An outbuilding near the origin of the fire was scorched in the flames, but investigators found no evidence of other structures damaged by the fire.

Sheriff John Feyen said authorities know who started the fire but declined to release more information as the investigation into the wildfire continues.
