Good morning, Colorado.

This past Friday, some friends and I headed downtown to watch bands take over MCA Denver’s roof space as part of the museum’s B-Side Music Fridays series.

As the sun set, its lingering rays found a lead singer’s face, covering her in an impromptu spotlight. It was impossible not to think that, one, summer is awesome and, two, we’ve got to soak up as much of it as we can before the seasons start to change.

But before you grab your bathing suits and sunglasses, let’s dive into the news.

The Goltra fire west of Golden grew from about 10 acres to more than 200 overnight. Both U.S. 6 west of Golden and Clear Creek Canyon are closed. We expect to learn more this morning so check back later today for updates.
