Trump’s former lawyer temporarily barred from practicing law in Colorado

Good morning, Colorado.

Despite doing nothing to properly prep my garden bed, my perennials managed to come back just fine this year — and some red strawberries are already forming.

These little plants of mine are surprisingly hardy. It’s hard not to feel like a proud parent. Hmmm maybe I should print out a little certificate to hang over them: “World’s Denver’s My #1 garden.”

Jenna Ellis, Trump lawyer who pleaded guilty in Georgia case, is barred from practicing law in Colorado for three years

Last year, Donald Trump’s former lawyer Jenna Ellis pleaded guilty in Georgia to a felony charge for trying to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in that state. Now, Ellis has been barred from practicing law for three years in Colorado.

The Coloradan played a public role in Trump’s efforts to overturn his loss to Joe Biden in 2020, often appearing at news conferences and on television to spread election conspiracies. Jesse Paul has more.

Heeeeeeeeere’s *checks notes* the Colorado Educational and Cultural Facilities Authority. Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it as “Johnny.” Regardless, yesterday, Gov. Jared Polis signed legislation allowing the bonding authority to buy the Stanley Hotel — of “The Shining” fame — in Estes Park. It also sets it up to build a new film center onsite.
