Busted: Breaking down big Western water myths
September 27, 2024 @ 10:15 am – 11:15 am

People are worried about Colorado’s water future: We’ve been in a two-decade megadrought. By 2050, cities, industries and ecosystems are all expected to face water shortages.
Most people know that shrinking supplies will affect them, but the nuance can be hard to grasp. Easy-to-understand concepts – like desalination, cross-country pipelines, and weather modification – often capture the imagination, without further digging into whether they hold real promise.
Which solutions are purely distraction and which ones have merit? Come hear from five Colorado newsrooms that teamed up to tackle stubborn water myths, turn them on their heads and see what truths shake out.
Colorado Sun Water Reporter Shannon Mullane will moderate.
