The Storm Cellar

A husband and wife team who left sommelier jobs in the city for the North Fork Valley, where they purchased and planted The Storm Cellar, their small-batch vineyard between Paonia and Hotchkiss. The outdoor tasting room is perched 500 feet above the valley floor, offering epic views to pair with the vineyard’s specialty whites and rosés, described as “dry, crisp and refreshing … and, above all, food friendly” by the vineyard owners, and described as “some of the BEST white wines I’ve had, and I’m a wine snob,” by Sylvia Harmon, The Sun’s sales director and self-describedresident wine snob.
