The best way to get to know a place is by asking a local. We know this well as reporters at The Colorado Sun. We spend hours traveling Colorado’s roads, visiting with people who know their places best, listening to their stories and, occasionally, gleaning a recommendation or two along the way.
Our staff has also spent about a gazillion collective years living in this state, and together we’ve narrowed a huge list down to 150 amazing Colorado things for our series celebrating Colorado’s 150th anniversary.
But while we’ll go anywhere, we haven’t been everywhere! Which is why we are turning to you, the locals, for your favorite spots that didn’t make our list.
What’s your favorite watering hole, or the unmissable item off your diner’s secret menu? Where is your favorite park to spend a long summer day, or the hometown festival you think everyone should know about? What’s a piece of Colorado history that isn’t taught in school, but that changed something about the way you see the state?
We want to hear from you! Tell us all your favorite Colorado spots and stories below.
