The second of three sets of human remains found last month in rural Conejos County have been identified, investigators announced Tuesday.

A forensic odontologist identified the remains as 34-year-old Shayla Jenna Hammel, who lived in Saguache County, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Hammel was reported missing on Nov. 26 by a family member after she had not been heard from since late October.

Investigators are still looking into the circumstances of her death, though they believe foul play was involved.

The three sets of human remains were discovered on two properties in the rural community of Los Sauces in November.

Adre Jordan “Psycho” Baroz, 26, was arrested days later in connection with the remains and is facing first-degree murder and kidnapping charges.

Another set of the three remains was identified in early December as that of Myron Robert Martinez, a Del Norte man who has been missing since Nov. 6. He would have turned 38 on Nov. 15.

Baroz has not been charged in connection with the deaths of Hammel and Martinez. However, he is accused of killing 19-year-old Selena Esquibel, according to court documents that were unsealed this month.

Authorities have not confirmed that the third set of remains belonged to Esquibel, but human bones were found in a location where a witness told police they saw Baroz kill her, the documents say.

Esquibel, like Hammel and Martinez, had also been reported missing.
