What will my donation support?
Your contributions fund the general operations of The Colorado Sun. That means: funding the reporting, editing and production of stories from every corner of our state, providing our journalists and staff a salary, benefits and the tools to do their best work and serve readers like you.
Occasionally we have special projects or options for you to direct your gift to a specific program, but unless otherwise noted, reader support is directed to the general operations and mission of The Sun.
Are there other ways to give?
You bet! In addition to cash, check and credit card donations, we accept gifts of appreciated stock, DAFs, QCDs, bequests and vehicles. You also have the option to list The Sun as a beneficiary of your insurance or other policies. Click here to read more.

Is my donation secure?
Yes, we use industry-standard SSL technology to keep your information secure.
We partner with Stripe, the industry’s established payment processor trusted by some of the world’s largest companies.
Your sensitive financial information never touches our servers. We send all data directly to Stripe’s PCI-compliant servers through SSL.
Can I just mail you a check?
No problem! Please make it out to The Colorado Sun and include your email in the memo so we can let you know the check arrived. Mail to:

Do I get a receipt?
Yes. You should receive an automated tax receipt for all online contributions.
If you need another copy or can’t find yours in your inbox, simply login to your donor portal and look for “receipts” in the sidebar menu.

From there, you will have the option to download all of your receipts or download receipts for individual transactions.

Will you sell my personal information?
No. Never.
How do I know if I’m a member?
If you have donated even $1 in the last year, you are a member of The Sun community!

How can I update my credit card?
To update your credit card, login to your donor portal. Locate your donation and hit “View Details.”

From there, locate the “Details” block and hit edit.

You will get a pop-up to “Edit payment details.”
To update your credit card, click on the “Payment method” and select “New credit Card.”
To update your giving amount, click into the “Donation amount” box and write in your preferred giving level.

To cancel:
Login to your donor portal. Locate your donation and hit “View Details.”

Scroll to the bottom and select “Cancel recurring donation.”

How do I increase my donation?
To your donation amount, login to your donor portal. Locate your donation and hit “View Details.”

From there, locate the “Details” block and hit edit.

You will get a pop-up to “Edit payment details.”
Click into the “Donation amount” box and write in your preferred giving level.

How do I cancel my membership?
To cancel your membership, login to your donor portal. Locate your donation and hit “View Details.”

Scroll to the bottom and select “Cancel recurring donation.”

How do I update my email?
Send us an email at membership@coloradosun.com with your old email and the one you wish to change it to. We’ll handle it from there!
Why don’t I have a password?
We don’t use passwords to login to your donor portal. Instead, you enter your email and will be sent a secure link to login.
